Mustapha Bentaleb

Mustapha Bentaleb is an electrical engineer by profession and a long-standing community activist. He has worked alongside many citizens' organisations and has often been involved in the associations of the first generation of Moroccan workers in Brussels. He frequented the Ahl El Hijra association, the Regroupement démocratique marocain and the Jeunesse Maghrébine until its activities ceased in 2008. He helped found the Maghreb cultural centre Espace Magh and the Centre d'Archives et de Recherche en Histoire de l'Immigration Maghrébine et Arabe (CARHIMA). In 2004, he coordinated the round table "Les passeurs de la mémoire sociale" and published the proceedings. He will mobilise a small committee to present the poems of Abdesselam Yettefti-Ouzekhti and, in October 2023, will publish a book dedicated to him entitled "La Cohérence du délire" (The Coherence of Delirium).
