Zoulika Atarhouch

Zoulika Atarhouch was born in Tangiers, Morocco, in 1963 and has lived in Brussels since 1964. She studied sociology at the ULB, became an activist in 1975 and worked twice, in 1987 and 1993, in the Association de la Jeunesse Maghrébine, which she chaired and where she created the "Marraines Project". She worked for four years in the fight against school failure and drop-out in secondary education in Forest in the early 90s, at the time of the first 'riots' in Brussels. She also worked as a parliamentary assistant, adviser to the president of the Brussels CPAS between 1993 and 1995, secretary general of the CNAPD and then civil servant at the Ministry of the Interior and the FPS Finance. She has trained as a general mediator and is currently a meditation instructor. Her whole life has been, and still is, focused on building a world with greater social justice.`
